Vectorizing (tracing or digitizing) creates a vector path (curve) around each color of the artwork (picture or image) whereas Contour Cutting places an outline around all of the artwork. After the artwork has been printed the media is loaded into a vinyl cutter which can either automatically scan the special Registration Marks (for ARMS and CCD cutters) or manually locate each mark (for laser-pointer cutters) which then cuts the outline to produce decals (stickers).¹ What’s the difference between Contour Cutting and Vectorizing? The Object(s) are printed onto the media but the outline is not printed. Involves placing an outline around an Object or Objects in SignMaster. *Please note that SignMaster Cut (Basic edition) does not support ARMS and CCD cutters.
